After 30 years of Manufacturing everything communications from CB to TV Transmitters the CTE group of Italy via its subsidiary, based in Swindon, Alan UK Ltd has launched the first fully integrated, in one package, Radio and Data system specifically for the Taxi market.

The CTE group based in Regio Emilia in Italy formed joint venture, Alan UK Ltd, some 9 years ago to promote the sale of its range of communications products under the Alan, Midland, Albrecht and CTE Broadcast brands. The MD of Alan UK Ltd, Lance Horne, has been in the radiocoms industry since the 60's and remembers being involved then with projects for Glasgow TOA and Welbeck minicabs ( to name a few). Horne comments " We looked at the changes in the Taxi communications industry and felt that the traditional "service" base was being eroded and that customers were finding more and more difficulty in getting a complete local service from one point".

Whilst Alan UK Ltd has been supplying basic speech systems into the trade since it was formed it was felt that the market needed to be moved to a new level which returned "service" to the taxi owner. As a result it was decided to develop the ALANTAXI system using its latest HM series mobiles. These units have massive processing power built into them via twin inbuilt microprocessors and have enough memory and processing power to contain everything that a modern Taxi Data system requires. This is all contained within a standard din sized mobile which, for added security, can be boot mounted leaving only the small display head in the vehicle which does not obstruct the drivers view.

Another problem found in many current systems is that the name on the box varies from one end of the system to the other leaving customers unsure who to call or where to send the unit for service. The ALANTAXI system has only one logo on it making responsibility quite clear. The systems are sold by local radio dealers who carry out the sales, service and installation functions locally to you, under guidance from Alan UK Ltd ,so you do not have to send kit to various parts of the country for service or repair but only have two contact points. Firstly your local dealer on a 5 day week 0900 to 1730 and then Alan UK Ltd for 24/7 back up on the data side. The majority of calls being answered over the telephone and the rest using a broadband connection because the system has inbuilt redundancy making for various levels of "fail safe".

All of this means that ALANTAXI costs less than many other data systems plus there are no hidden costs for licensing etc. In addition the price you pay does not rocket when you want to add to the system, you will pay the same as your first order even if its one additional mobile.
